Requirements for Assessment

The applicant’s academic and leadership abilities and attainments, significant evidence of scholarship, administration, meaningful research, strategic planning, financial management, and resource development will be assessed.

A holistic understanding of issues pertaining to the higher education sector, including the enhancement of pedagogy and quality assurance, research and development, impact on the economy, development of human and financial resources, and constructive social interaction with communities by developing an enabling environment in universities, will be considered as a major asset.

Terms of Appointment to Apply for Vice Chancellor and Rector Jobs

1. The Chancellor will appoint the Vice Chancellor/Rector for a period of 4 years or as provided under law.
2. The appointee will be entitled to draw the “Vice Chancellor Salary Package” approved by the Chancellor.

1. Applicants with appropriate experience may submit their applications on the prescribed proforma (which can be downloaded from the Ministry’s website www.mofept.gov.pk) by attaching a detailed CV, copies of testimonials, experience certificates, and other documentary proofs of accomplishments.
2. The application should also include a separate letter of intent explaining in less than 300 words the vision to strengthen and develop the University’s programs.
3. The application must clearly mention the post against which the applicant wishes to apply.

5. If an applicant has already applied with reference to this Ministry’s advertisement dated 25th September 2022, there is no need to apply again. Their same application shall be acceptable under the current advertisement.

7. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, and no TA/DA will be admissible.
